What Is A Discipleship Group?
A Discipleship Group is a small group of people committed to intentionally walking with one another to grow in love and obedience to God.
What Is A Disciple?
A person who has been made alive in Jesus and is growing in love and obedience to God.
What Is Discipleship?
Walking with someone to grow in love and obedience to God. Furthermore, discipleship is a 3-part process of intentionality:
- Get in front of someone, to model following Jesus.
- Get beside someone, to walk with them in following Jesus.
- Get behind someone, to send them out to lead others to Jesus.
The aim of a Discipleship Group is that with the help of the Holy Spirit and one another, we would “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18) and become more like the One we follow—Jesus!

Growing in Obedience - What is God saying to me, and what am I going to do about it?
And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds.
Why Do We Believe It Is Important To Be In A Discipleship Group?
Ultimately, Christians, and the church, are called to make disciples of Jesus Christ, baptize them in the name of the Triune God, and teach them to observe all that Jesus commanded. If we are not making disciples, we are not living as a Biblical church.
In order to make disciples, to lead people to life in Jesus and to grow in love and obedience to God, we need each other. As we grow as disciples of Jesus, best fostered in a discipleship group context and a community group, a healthy church will follow. As a healthy church grows, by leading more people to life in Jesus, a healthy church planting movement will follow, and from that kingdom expansion to all people in all places.
